Why Recognition Matters: Tech Hotlist 2025 and the Future of Accommodation Management
Last week, Optimise by mysa was named to Business Travel Magazine’s Tech Hotlist 2025. For us, it’s a proud milestone. But more than that, it’s a signal of where the corporate travel industry is heading; toward smarter, more collaborative accommodation management.
This recognition isn’t only about technology. It reflects a growing industry consensus: hotel programmes deserve more than annual spreadsheets, fragmented systems, and reactive reviews. They deserve clarity, collaboration and actionable insights.
More Than an Award
When Business Travel Magazine recognised mysa, our first feeling was gratitude. We’re thankful that an established industry voice sees value in the model we’re building.
But the significance runs deeper. It validates a belief we share with buyers, suppliers, consultants, and travellers: the way accommodation programmes are managed today isn’t sustainable.
- Buyers are under constant pressure to deliver savings and visibility.
- Suppliers navigate complex distribution challenges.
- Consultants are asked to advise without consistent data.
- Travellers simply want seamless, safe, and fair experiences.
Recognition like this isn’t a finish line. It’s encouragement — a reminder to keep challenging the status quo and building better ways forward.
Why Now
The timing matters. Corporate travel has changed dramatically in recent years, yet the hotel RFP process still looks eerily similar to how it did in 2005: spreadsheets, one-off negotiations, limited visibility into compliance or performance.
Meanwhile, expectations are rising:
- Procurement leaders want transparency and control without heavier workloads.
- Travel managers need clarity, not just more dashboards.
- Hotel partners are seeking collaboration, not just transactions.
The problem isn’t too little data – it’s too much, trapped in silos. What the industry needs are better ways to connect the dots and turn information into action.
Our Approach
That’s where Optimise by mysa comes in. It isn’t another platform to master or another system to integrate at high cost. Instead, it’s a connected ecosystem designed to work alongside existing processes, enabling smarter decisions with less effort.
At its core is OptimiseIQ – our starting point. With just two simple inputs (nights and spend per hotel), OptimiseIQ delivers clarity by showing:
- Which hotels are underperforming.
- Where savings can be unlocked.
- How programmes are trending across time and locations.
It’s not disruption. It’s enablement – empowering buyers to negotiate smarter, suppliers to align more effectively, and consultants to advise with confidence.
From there, the ecosystem expands: sourcing, booking, compliance, audit – all connected, all collaborative. But it always begins with clarity.
What’s Next
The Hotlist recognition gives us momentum, but the real impact comes from dialogue and collaboration. In the weeks ahead, we’re opening up that conversation through three initiatives:
Weekly Coffee Chats
Short, fireside-style conversations between Mya (buyer) and Sam (supplier). Each episode tackles a real industry challenge; from hidden costs in preferred rates to the role of TMCs. Honest, light and thought-provoking.
Weekly Blogs
Every week, we’ll explore the themes shaping corporate accommodation: smarter pre-RFP decisions, continuous programme visibility, and rethinking buyer–supplier partnerships.
The mysa Manifesto
Our statement of intent: how accommodation programmes can and should work better. Not a pitch – a perspective. And the foundation of everything we do.
