In a recent update on their website, the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) outlined support for key workers needing serviced accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since self-isolation and lockdown measures were introduced in March 2020, the association has seen a surge in enquiries on the availability of accommodation across the UK from NHS staff and other key workers that need alternative living arrangements during the crisis.
To fulfil this demand, ASAP is working with all ISAPP accredited providers and agents to streamline the process by ensuring enquires are directed to members that can offer a suitable solution in terms of requirements and budget.
Last month the government closed down all hospitality accommodation for commercial use in line with the closure of non-essential businesses during the period of lockdown. However, accommodation providers, including short-term let properties and serviced accommodation can remain operational to service the needs of key workers, employees in critical sectors and people that have been displaced. These include employees in health and social care, education, key public services, local and national government, public safety and national security, transport, communication and financial services.
Although it is not yet known how long these special measures will be in place, the association and its members have pledged their support indefinitely to help key workers needing serviced accommodation to find it quickly.
For more information, email your details including the number of people, location, dates, any special requirements and budget to [email protected] or visit the ASAP website.
